Premature birth rates for Black mothers in North Carolina are significantly higher than the state average and consistently exceed national rates for Black women, with recent data showing a rate of 14.7% (2022-2024), compared to a 10.7% state average and a 14.0% national average for Black infants. Black infants in NC are nearly 2 times more likely to be born prematurely than Asian/Pacific Islander infants.
Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. Our team is walking in March for Babies because we want to do something about this. I know you care, too. That's why I'm asking you to make a donation to our team. You can do so right on this page by clicking the red Donate to Team above on the right side.
Thank you for helping us give all babies a healthy start!
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
