Ira's Memorial Marching Team

Ira's Memorial Marching Team (a.k.a IRA's TEAM) was created in 2021 to honor the memory of the remarkable Ira Adams Chapman.  To date, IRA's TEAM has donated over $50,000 to the March of Dimes. 

Ira dedicated her professional life, and much of her personal life, to helping babies, mothers and families live healthy, happy lives. Her time on Earth as a neonatologist, pediatrician, researcher, mentor, church member, family member, and friend touched and improved innumerable lives.  When in the role of attending physician, her clinical expertise and remarkable collaborative skills made colleagues, staff and family members confident our small patients were receiving the very best of care. Ira was a very busy and accomplished lady, yet she never failed to grace us with her warm, beautiful smile and calm demeanor.  Each encounter with Ira left us feeling better than before.  Five years sine her passing and Ira continues to inspire. 

Ira was a proud supporter of the March of Dimes.  Despite her hectic life, she participated in the March for Babies many times.   Her life exemplified the March of Dimes goal: "To improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality… through research, community services, education and advocacy”.  Families in our community and across the country are impacted by the fundraising of the March of Dimes.  Emory Regional Perinatal Center's second Angel II transport ambulance was funded with money raised by the March of Dimes- a fact that made Ira especially happy. 

Please join us in helping babies and families in the spirit of our friend Ira. We encourage friends, family and supporters to march with IRA's TEAM as we raise critical funds and tackle the biggest health threats facing moms and babies.  We know Ira will, once again, be smiling.
