There has always been a bit of an invisible string connecting myself, and now our family, to the monumental work that March of Dimes has done for babies and mothers since 1938. You see, I was born prematurely and later became very involved with the Alabama Chapter of the March of Dimes during my time at Auburn.
In 2019, life threw us the most unexpected curve ball when Henry Dale joined us on September 26 (also my birthday) 6 weeks before his due date. We spent the next month driving back and forth daily to the NICU at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta to love and support our tiny, growing hero.
Today, Henry is a thriving 5 year old. He loves numbers and golf. If you've met him, you no doubt love him as much as we do. We are so thankful for the love and support shown to us by friends, family, and strangers during that first difficult month and beyond.
Because of the road we have traveled these past 5 years, from the NICU to all the typical preemie doctor visits, I have decided to increase my advocacy for the health and well-being of mothers and babies through the March of Dimes by serving on the board for the Atlanta market.
On May 17th, Team Hole-in-One, lead by our amazing Captain Amelia Dale, will proudly march together with hundreds of families, healthcare professionals, and community leaders to show our support for March of Dimes. We would love for you to join our team by walking with us or supporting from afar with a donation.
