We are the Pi Pi Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and we are proud to be part of the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk. Preterm birth and maternal death rates continue to rise. Research shows that the threat of maternal mortality and morbidity is especially acute for women of color. Black mothers of all ages are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than their White peers.
