On May 22, 2018, at exactly 30 weeks pregnant, i delivered my baby via emergency c-section. I had suffered from an unprovoked, complete placental abruption.
My sweet baby girl Romina was only 3.7 lbs.
The following days were a blur of medical tests, NICU visits and blood transfusions for me.
We were presented with facts that our tiny new baby had no brain activity and it was up to us what steps we wanted to take next for her. On May 27th, only 5 days after delivering, we removed life support. Romina died in my arms that night.
With my grief came an overwhelming need to find answers for myself and find a way to implement them with other moms possibly going through the same or similar situations. March of Dimes has helped me do that!
I miss my daughter so much there’s days it actually causes physical pain, and not a single day has passed where I don’t wish i could hold her, smell her, just one more time.
The funds my team raises enable March of Dimes to support research, lead programs and provide education and advocacy that truly makes a difference to families in our community and across the country. If you believe, like I do, that every baby deserves the best possible start, please consider making a donation to support this community effort. Together we can fight for the health of all moms and babies.
For Romina💗
