Please join me as I walk for the first time in March for Babies to honor Baby Harpers memory and to acknowledge baby Halle’s current journey through the NICU.
My daughters, Halle and Harper, were born at 25 weeks gestation on December 9, 2023. Harper was 2lbs 2oz and Halle was 1lb 11oz. Both babies were very sick. Harper lost her battle on December 22, 2023 at only 13 days old.
Halle is currently 2.5 months old and is beating all odds… This is after battling pneumonia, 12 blood transfusions, breathing support from a ventilator, breathing support from C-pap, battling chronic lung disease, PDA (hole in her heart), 3 X-rays of her heart, 3 X-rays of her brain, and over 50 X-rays of her lungs.
Both of our daughters needed special care in the NICU which would not have been possible without March of Dimes. March of Dimes research led to the development of pulmonary surfactant therapy that Halle received to treat respiratory distress syndrome. March of Dimes has helped babies and families like ours for more than 75 years through research, vaccines, and breakthroughs.
Right now, babies need all the help they can get. Premature birth affects about 450,000 babies here in the United States. I’m walking in March for Babies to get the message out about this terrible problem and you can help. Please make a donation to help me reach my goal. Together we can help the March of Dimes fight prematurity so more babies can get the strongest start possible
If you would like to walk with us, the walk is Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Werner Park. Registration begins at 9am. Feel free to message me with any questions or for more details.
Hope to see you there!
