East Alabama Health is proud to support our local moms and babies by adding a level three neonatal intensive care unit to our facility in Opelika! Our goal is to support mothers and babies, and promote giving every baby a healthy start! Unfortunately every mother's story does not have a happy ending. Dennis and Lucy Thrasher lost their precious daughter, Olivia, due to premature birth caused by preeclampsia. She was born on Christmas day 2007 at 1lb 15oz. She passed three weeks later. Our East Alabama health team want to walk to honor Olivia and so many just like her!
We have joined thousands of compassionate teams across the country that support March for Babies. Won't you please help us in this worthy cause? Join us in the walk that helps all moms and babies.
The money we raise for March for Babies will help:
...support all-important research offering preventions and solutions for babies born too soon or with birth defects
...educate women on things they can do to increase their chances of having a healthy baby
...provide comfort and information to families with a newborn in intensive care
...push for newborn screening and health insurance for all pregnant women and children.
Together we can make a difference… One step at a time!
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
