Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

2024 Triad March for Babies Ambassador Family

 

 

Thomas Family

Jonathan Ethan Thomas (fondly known as Jet) was born on November 28, 2020, at 27 weeks gestational weighing 1 lb 11oz. He is the first born to John and Angel Thomas. Jet was diagnosed with Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (premature lungs) and at 42 weeks gestational (3 months old), Jet underwent surgery and got a tracheostomy and g-tube. While in the NICU, March of Dimes provided several comfort items for our family and made sure our family was educated and had support. Jet came home after 174 days in the NICU (1 week shy of 6 months). Jet came home on a ventilator and oxygen but has progressed tremendously over the past 2 years. Jet love Elmo, Bluey, and anything musical! Jet has underwent 3 surgeries including adenoids removal and he does not take long to recover and go back to his loving, playful self. He uses a gait trainer to assist with walking and he will be starting daycare in October. He has made our entire family better and we are grateful to call him our son.
