MARCH FOR BABIES: A MOTHER OF A MOVEMENT™
Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!
Join the movement!
This year, March for Babies: A Mother of a Movement™ has a bold new vision. More than just a walk, it’s your entry into making a visible difference in your community now and for generations to come.
By participating in March for Babies, you’re lifting up communities for health equity, opening the door for all moms to have access to care and protecting the health of families by pushing for their rights. It’s no small feat—it’s a mother of a movement!
Start or join an existing team today, create an online fundraising page and let everyone know that you’re helping to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
2021 will mark our first ever March for Babies downtowr Waco scavenger hunt on Saturday, June 12 between the hours of noon-3pm. This will be our first year to try out a socially distanced scavenger hunt that will take walkers to various locations in downtown Waco to complete missions that will allow them to Hope, Remember and Celebrate as a March of Dimes community. Together, the community will celebrate every story as we walk in the footsteps of NICU graduates and their families. Together, we will bring hope to every mom and baby through lifesaving research, breakthroughs and programs. Mission Moments let our teams and sponsors experience some of what babies, parents, doctors and nurses see and feel in hospitals every day. As teams walk together, we will also honor the babies we lost to remember how much they mean to us and provide support for one another.
Team captains will receive the first clue Friday, June 11, the night before the hunt, for walkers to determine where the scavenger hunt will start in Waco and where they can park the car if they choose to walk to each location. At the first location, walkers will receive their “treasure map” or “clues” of where to go for the remaining missions. If walkers cannot decipher a clue, they will be provided a number to text for a helpful hint. We don’t want anyone to get stuck!
