We're getting ready to walk in March for Babies! It promises to be a fun day out with people who share our passion for improving the health of babies. There'll be family teams, company teams and people walking with friends - it's a great feeling knowing we're all helping real families. 2016 York Ambassador Adam Deardorff

Jessica Deardorff had a healthy pregnancy until she went into preterm labor and delivered her first child, Adam at only 29 weeks, weighing 4 pounds, 1 ounce. Adam struggled with apnea of prematurity when he was born and was almost sent home on a monitor. He struggled to get through 7 days of no episodes without caffeine therapy and finally made it to the 7 days right before he was to go home. It was a difficult time for the Deardorff family, but thankfully he was able to come home after 28 days in the NICU. Today, Adam is 6 years old and loves art, playing outside and building with his Legos. Adam's parents, Chad and Jessica know the significant role that the March of Dimes research played in helping Adam get this far. As the 2016 Central PA York Ambassador Family they will share their story and help raise awareness of premature birth. They hope their story can provide hope for other families and help the March of Dimes to reach the day when all babies are born strong and healthy.
