Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

ABOUT MARCH FOR BABIES
Update 4/29/17: ATTENTION MIAMI VALLEY WALKERS - Unfortunately due to severe weather in the Dayton area, March for Babies has been cancelled. Thank you for all you have done to support moms and babies! We will update you via email on Monday with follow-up activities. The Miami Valley March for Babies will be held at the UD River Campus. This year's walk is Saturday, April 29, 2017 and is being chaired by Anita Adams, COO of Kettering Medical Center and KHN is our Platinum Sponsor for the event. The March for Babies will start at 8:00 a.m. to turn in your donations, if you have not already done so. We will March for Babies promptly at 9:00. In addition to the 3 mile route there is a one-mile fun route within UD River Campus park. This family friendly morning also features free food for the walkers, entertainment, and a kids zone for the little ones. We have added a Kids Sprint this year and only $25 to enter for children up to 10 years old and they will each receive a superhero cape that says "Miracles do Happen". This rain or shine event welcomes individual walkers, as well as family, corporate, and school teams. Join us and start your team today! 2017 National Ambassador Ismael Torres Castrodad

Isamari Castrodad had a healthy pregnancy until she was hospitalized for a low level of amniotic fluid. Luckily she learned about premature birth from the March of Dimes and asked questions — because after she was anxious enough to get her fluid levels checked again, her son, Ismael, was born by emergency c-section 5 weeks early. Six days after discharge, he developed jaundice and RSV (a serious lung infection) and was treated in the hospital. He had to be rehospitalized with pneumonia and asthma, but today, Ismael is a charming, healthy 14-year-old from Puerto Rico who plays soccer and loves to sing. He and his family will travel around the country to raise awareness of premature birth and encourage moms to confidently ask questions about their health.
