On December 11th at 9:30 AM I had a regular doctors appointment, but it wasn't so regular once I was inside. This was the appointment where I found out my baby, Enzo, had no heartbeat. For a second, I thought I myself had no heartbeat. There’s nothing harder to hear, or see for that matter, than your baby laying, still inside you, with no heartbeat. Considering how perfect my pregnancy had been, this was just the tip of the iceberg. It was extremely hard for me to grasp and come to terms with. I was in complete denial.
At 1:13 AM on December 12th, I delivered the most beautiful sleeping baby boy. Enzo Miguel Ferro. I can’t even tell you how gorgeous he was, I mean it helps that he looked just like me :) I got to spend the next couple of hours holding him, loving him, being the mother I am to him. Enzo was the driving force in our family. Always bringing everyone together. He changed each and every one of our lives without us even really noticing it at the time.
Right now, babies need all the help they can get. Premature birth affects about 380,000 babies here in the United States alone. I’m walking in March for Babies to get the message out about this terrible problem and you can help. Please make a secure donation to help me reach my goal so together we can help the March of Dimes fight prematurity. This way more babies can get the strongest start possible.
