Elizabeth Grace was born at just 23 weeks gestation. She was 1 pound 3 ounces and 10 inches long at birth. We were told that chance of survival was 20%. Elizabeth was in the hospital for 109 days. at 10 years old she has beat all the odds! Elizabeth still struggles with some of the lasting effects of her premature birth, such as asthma and her small size. Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities. The funds we raise in March for Babies support research that saves babies' lives.
