Why I walk

Hello! My name is Isaiah Toledo. I arrived on January 15, 2008. I was supposed to be born on May 1, 2008. I was born at 25 weeks weighing 1lb. 4oz. I faced a brain bleed of level 1, a collapse lung, PDA Ligation (hole in heart), ROP-laser eye surgery on both eyes, central line surgery, g-tube surgery (feeding tube), and more. I was also a twin. My twin Luis survived 23 days and he weighed 1lb. 7oz. I finally graduated from the NICU after 189 days!!! Now, at the age of 9, I am a honor roll student, playing sports, and I love video games. I love to watch and play with legos and super heroes with my baby brother Josiah, who was 36-week preemie and 5 lbs.! I want to tell you that this walk is important to me because if it weren't for the funds raised and people like you that care, I probably wouldn't be here today. I fought every second of my life to be here and I MADE IT! I accomplished amazing things. My parents call me their Hero! This walk is to celebrate my life and to remember my guardian Angel and baby brother Luis Toledo. Please support this cause so we can give every baby a healthy start.

Funds raised in March for Babies support research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives. And they will be used to bring comfort and information to families with a baby in newborn intensive care.
