Hi everyone, Amy, Molly, Josh and I will be doing the Skate for Babies this year. We are holding our sixth annual "Ice Skate for Babies" a family night of skating and raffles. Please join us (along with any of your friends) on Saturday February 18, 2017 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Connecticut College's Dayton Arena 270 Mohegan Ave, New London CT $10 per adult/$5 per child Rental skates available $5 If you are a Pfizer colleague the company will match your contribution if it is $25 or more. Please email me and I can provide matching gift form. As you may or may not know, on June 2, 2008 our daughter Molly was born at 29 weeks. Her weight bottomed out at 2 lbs 4 ounces and after just over 2 months in Yale's Newborn Intensive Care Unit she was able to come home. Molly survived being on a ventilator, brain bleed, septal defect, jaundice, etc. (all "Normal" preemie diagnosis). We consider ourselves "lucky" as Molly avoided surgeries and blood transfusions, which several of our friends babies from the NICU had to endure. Today Molly is a normal thriving 8 ½ year old.
On February 18, 2017, from 6:30-9:30 pm, families and friends will gather at Connecticut College’s Dayton Arena for our Sixth Annual “Ice Skate for Babies” skating event to raise funds for Alicia’s Angels and the March of Dimes. Since the inception of the event in 2012 we have raised over $75,000 in donations at the event and from those who were unable to attend!
All funds raised will be donated to Alicia’s Angels and the March of Dimes.
Alicia’s Angels was founded by one of Molly’s NICU nurses in honor of her late daughter who didn’t get to come home. The organization is a 501c(3) not for profit and is placing rooms in NICUs which will create an environment more like a home and less like a hospital.
