Why I walk

On June 27, 2009 our triplets Charlie, Annaleigh and Lily arrived suddenly 15 weeks early. Weighing 1 lb 13 oz, 1 lb 9 oz and 1 lb 8 oz they immediately began their long and grueling struggle to survive in the NICU. Sadly, our beautiful Annaleigh passed away after just 8 weeks of life due to an infection called NEC, which preemies are vulnerable to. Charlie and Lily spent 95 and 99 days in the hospital before coming home. Today they are happy, healthy and growing strong thanks to the wonderful care they received after birth. Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. Our family is walking with the Capital Health team in the March for Babies because we want to do something about this. I know you care, too. That's why I'm asking for your support. Please help by donating to our team. You can do so right on this page. Thank you for helping us give all babies a healthy start!

Every mom and baby deserve the best possible start

Two babies die every hour in the U.S. And about every 12 hours a woman dies as a result of complications from pregnancy.

It's not fine. That's why we March for Babies.

We march to end maternal death. We march for babies born too soon. We march for babies we have lost. We march for moms-to-be. And we march for health equity.

Join the fight for healthy moms and strong babies, and make a difference for families everywhere!
