Why I walk

This is our 10th year at March for Babies!

My son, Liam, was born at 27 weeks and 6 days. At birth Liam only weighed 15 ounces. We spent 101 days in the NICU before being discharged and have cherished every day that we have been able to spend with our little miracle. Liam just turned 9 in October and he has grown so much! We went from being born under a pound to learning how to eat, crawl and walk. Even though our NICU stay is long behind us, we are still faced daily with factors related to his prematurity.

And we can't forget about our other member of the 504 boys, Luke! Luke was born at 27 weeks and 1 day. Luke was born at 1lb 11oz. While he followed in his brothers footsteps being born at 27 weeks, his NICU stay was much shorter. After 66 days we were able to bring Luke home. Luke is now a fun and wild 4 year old who will be starting Pre-K in the Fall!

Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. I'm walking in March for Babies because I want to do something about this. And I need your help. Making a secure donation is easy: just click the 'donate now' button on this page. Thank you for helping me give all babies a healthy start!

WE NEED TO UNITE, CONNECT AND FIGHT FOR FAMILIES

With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.

At March for Babies: A Mother of a Movement you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.

Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
