Why I walk

Hi, I am Marcellus's mommy. Marcellus Robert Lennon was born on October 28th, 2011 at 28 weeks 5 days gestation with no known reason for premature labor. He weighed 3 pounds 2 ounces and was 16 inches long. We spent many perfect days with Marcellus in the NICU and everything seemed to be going great until Marcellus was diagnosed with necrotizing enterocoliotis (NEC). Marcellus had a severe case of NEC. The NICU team worked so very hard and Mommy and Daddy were by Marcellus's side. He died on November 9th, 2011 at 12:43pm in my arms - a moment no parent should have to live through. Marcellus fought hard and Mommy and Daddy are proud of their little warrior. Marcellus, after all, means "young warrior." Four years ago our second son graduated from the same NICU. He was there for 10 weeks. Ethan Michael was born December 18th, 2012 at 27 weeks 4 days gestation with a labor similar to his big brother's. He continues to amaze us every single day. He is truly our miracle. On November 5th, 2015 our third son was born. Thanks to what we learned from Marcellus and Ethan's premature deliveries we were able to keep Weston Morgan from being born so premtaure (I had a cerclage). He was so close to being full-term (36 weeks 6 days) and did not spend a single moment in the NICU! Our team is walking in March for Babies to help give babies like my sons a fighting chance. That's why I'm asking you to join us. It's easy: just click the join this team button. If you can't walk with us, please help by donating to our team. You can do so right on this page. Thank you for helping us give all babies a healthy start!

Your gift matters

Funds raised in March for Babies support research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives. And they will be used to bring comfort and information to families with a baby in newborn intensive care.

You will always be loved and missed greatly! Morgan, Mike, Ethan, and Weston: We love you. You have more strength and love in your family than any family I know. I can only imagine the pain that you all have gone through and still go through, but yet you still love and care and live with such verocity. It is truely remarkable and beautiful.
