On January 25, 2016, our son, Israel "Izzy" Miles, was born prematurely due to a rare birth defect called BRA (bilateral renal agenesis). It's a condition that only affects about 1 in 4000 pregnancies, but we ended up being that "1." As a family, we've had the most difficult year imaginable, but we rejoice in our memories of Izzy and the legacy he's left us with. We are determined to continue living the life he couldn't and fighting just as he fought to be with us even if for just a brief time. We have been forever changed.
We participated in the March for Babies last Spring in the thick of our grief and it was the best decision we could have made. God granted us a beauitful, warm and sunny day as we marched in solidarity with familes across the Chicagoland area who have been affected by or who are passionate about premature birth, birth defects, infant loss, and a range of other issues affecting families.
Will you help us raise money to help other families as they fight for the lives of their precious babies? Right now, babies need all the help they can get. Premature birth affects about 450,000 babies here in the United States. Please join us in our #Fight4Israel by walking with our team and/or making a secure donation to help us reach our goal of raising $5,000. Together we can help the March of Dimes fight prematurity so more babies can get the strongest start possible.
