I joined the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk. But I also joined forces with March of Dimes because no mother should suffer through the nearly fatal birth experience that I did. On March 25, 2018, after experiencing shortness of breath, lightheadedness, leg, hand and face swelling I reported to the emergency. I soon found out that undiagnosed preeclampsia had evolved into Class I HELLP Syndrome and resulted in severe pulmonary edema, kidney failure, liver failure and dangerously low platelets. The only way to save my life was to deliver my baby. And at 6:53 pm, my daughter Reign Victoria was born weighing 1lb 15oz. She was rushed to the NICU to be stabilized and I was taken to the ICU on life support. She spent 3 months in the NICU and continues to experience complications from prematurity. After coming home from the NICU, I knew that I needed to be the answers that I didn't have and the best way to do that was to share my story and unite with the organization that gave me all of the information that I needed about prematurity and maternal health during our journey and that was March of Dimes. Today my husband Ryan, daughter Reign Victoria and I serve as proud March of Dimes Ambassadors.
With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start. But I need your help. Please visit my fundraising page to make a donation. Together we’ll be part of a movement to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies: A Mother of a Movement™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
