On September 5, 2015 we welcomed our son, Andrew Harper into this world and learned just how scary premature birth can be. Harper was born at 29 weeks and was 2 pounds 15 ounces. A normal pregnancy up until it wasn't didn't leave us with any time to prepare ourselves for the journey we were about to take with our amazing super hero of a son. Harper spent 60 days in the NICU which meant 60 nights sleeping in a hospital without his Mom and Dad, 60+ times we had to leave the hospital without our son, and 60 days surrounded by beeps and alarms and attached to tubes and wires. Happily Harper is now a healthy, happy, hilarious 8 year old - but not all babies and families are so lucky. Right now, babies need all the help they can get. Premature birth affects about 450,000 babies here in the United States. I’m walking in March for Babies to get the message out about this terrible problem and you can help.
