BeeMighty Supports March for Babies

Bee Mighty was founded by Michael and Candace Richter, whose son, Shaw, spent 122 days in the NICU. He suffered from a stroke at birth, 22 spinal taps, hydrocephalous, countless airway surgeries (from multiple intubations), 2 brain surgeries and much, much more. A year after brining him home, we were told he might not walk or talk due to his brain injuries.

Shaw's parents worked tirelessly finding therapies that could support his development and maximize his potential. Often, Shaw was in 6 - 8 hours of therapy a week, most of which was not covered by private insurance.

Shaw's Mom began to inquire to other mighty families, therapists and doctors how other families can afford all the therapy and equipment that their child needs. The answer was astounding, "Parents have to choose what care they can afford to provide for their child."

Bee Mighty was formed with a team of passionate mothers, professionals, caregivers and change makers. They work to raise money within the community so NICU families no longer have to choose. If the difference of your child being able to walk or talk comes down to additional services we can provide, Bee Mighty wants your child to have access!

If you were one of the 1 in 10 families that had a premature baby this year or even years ago, the likelihood that your child has needed or will need some sort of therapy is greater than a child delivered at full term. Traditional therapies include: speech, physical or occupational therapy to promote your child reaching his/her full development potential. Additional therapies could include hippotherapy, Anat Baniel Method, music therapy and many, many more. Bee Mighty also provides grants for equipment like an adaptive tricycle or a cranial band, perhaps a wheelchair.

Please consider joining this mighty team, as we walk in solidarity with all babies that raced into this world too soon and fought their tiny hearts out to stay. Bee Mighty believes every child has the right to reach their full potential. Bee Mighty believes these babies deserve every chance to enhance their development and quality of life.   We’re walking in March for Babies to get the message out.  Together we can help the March of Dimes fight prematurity so more babies can get the strongest start possible.

Bee Mighty supports the tremendous work by the March of Dimes and together support Charlotte's tiniest warriors.

Every mom and baby deserve the best possible start

Two babies die every hour in the U.S. And about every 12 hours a woman dies as a result of complications from pregnancy.

It's not fine. That's why we March for Babies.

We march to end maternal death. We march for babies born too soon. We march for babies we have lost. We march for moms-to-be. And we march for health equity.

Join the fight for healthy moms and strong babies, and make a difference for families everywhere!
