We believe every baby deserves the best possible start, but unfortunately, not all babies get one. In fact, each year more than 380,000 babies are born prematurely in the U.S. We are partnering with the March of Dimes to help change that.
UCLA Health has a long-standing partnership with the March of Dimes and since 2010, our UCLA Bruins for Babies team has worked collaboratively to support potentially lifesaving research for babies and mothers. Our team takes great pride in our strong commitment to our patients and the Los Angeles community and we are honored to support a foundation that stands for the health of all moms and babies. Additionally, March of Dimes has provided UCLA with over $4 million in research grants, incredible resources for families with babies in our NICUs and educational opportunities for our staff.
While the physical walk won’t be happening this year, our campaign remains strong and active! In these unprecedented times, March of Dimes continues to provide crucial resources to pregnant moms and babies including weekly opportunities for maternal and child health experts, expectant moms and new parents to come together to get the latest news, information, and resources on the COVID-19 pandemic. March of Dimes is also conducting research of COVID-19 treatments ensuring they are inclusive and safe for pregnant and lactating women.
For these reasons and many more, we are more determined than ever to support March for Babies and reach our fundraising goal of $25,000! Please join us! We hope you will continue on this journey with us and please know YOUR DONATION MATTERS. You have the ability to make a HUGE impact with very little effort. So please, if you have the capacity, consider donating to the campaign and encouraging your friends and family to do the same. It's quick and easy! Just clink the 'DONATE TO TEAM' button on our page.
On behalf of all of us at UCLA Health we thank and appreciate you!
Two babies die every hour in the U.S. And about every 12 hours a woman dies as a result of complications from pregnancy.
It's not fine. That's why we March for Babies.
We march to end maternal death. We march for babies born too soon. We march for babies we have lost. We march for moms-to-be. And we march for health equity.
Join the fight for healthy moms and strong babies, and make a difference for families everywhere!
