On behalf of the Department of Motor Vehicles, I would like to thank you for your support of the March of Dimes’ March for Babies campaign. The annual March of Dimes giving campaign is just one of the many ways DMV employees continue to give back to their communities.
Every year in the United States, almost 380,000 babies are born too soon, more than 43,000 of them in California. With 1 in 10 babies born prematurely, this remains the March of Dimes top priority and focus. Through our support, the March of Dimes can continue to fund important lifesaving research, education, vaccines, and breakthroughs to make sure every baby gets the strongest start possible.
More than ever, organizations like ours demonstrate their willingness to support their communities, and we believe the March of Dimes is a great choice for our charitable efforts.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you, your family, and friends to participate in the March for Babies 2017 Campaign. By joining in, we show that the DMV cares about our employees and our community. This year the DMV HQ has set a goal to raise $45,000. Our commitment and participation in the March for Babies will mean a better future for all of us, because our efforts will help save babies from premature birth and birth defects.
