Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

Meet Aira and Breleigh

Aira and Breleigh were born at 27 weeks 2 days gestation due to complications from Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). Robyn and Adrian found out they were having twins at 15 weeks along with the news of the TTTS, which has 30% chance of survival without medical intervention. They flew to Cincinnati at 17 weeks and had fetal laser surgery the next day. Everything looked good until 24 weeks when Breleigh's piece of the placenta was failing so the family prepare to lose her. Robyn and the girls made it to 27 weeks and were told the twins were now big enough to try to save them both. The girls were born 2 days later, Aira weighed 2 lbs 7 ounces and Breleigh 1 lb .9. Everything looked amazing! Breleigh was called a "rock star!" About 28 hours after birth Breleigh declined rapidly and at about 32 hours old she passed away in her mother’s arms with her father by their side. Soon after her sister, Aira, deteriorated and it was soon a fight for her life. Three weeks on life support, 109 days in the NICU, and home on oxygen for about 3 months, Aira is a miracle!
