We're getting ready to walk in March for Babies! It promises to be a fun day out with people who share our passion for improving the health of babies. Join family teams, company teams and people walking with friends for a great cause: making a difference for real families right here in our community. The Bittner Twins
Born early at 27 weeks, Logan weighing in at 2 lb 7.5 oz and Alexia at 1 lb 15oz, the Bittner twins spent three months in a newborn intensive care unit (NICU). They were placed on ventilators after birth and also received surfactant therapy, developed in part with funding from the March of Dimes, to strengthen their tiny lungs. There were many ups and downs in their NICU journey. Since they were born prematurely, they have received speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy. Today, Logan and Alexia are happy, healthy 2-year-olds who love Curious George and books. They are small for their age but are thriving; thanks to the March of Dimes they are able to celebrate another birthday this year at the Will County March for Babies!
