We’re proud to continue supporting March for Babies through the March of Dimes, and this cause is deeply personal to us.
Our Story
My husband and I were so excited to find out we were expecting shortly after our wedding in August 2017. At the time, I was finishing my doctorate and navigating the unknowns of pregnancy at age 36. But when we went in for our first ultrasound, we saw the gestational and yolk sacs—but no baby. We tried to stay hopeful, rescheduled another ultrasound, and spent the next two weeks in prayer and anxiety. Unfortunately, that second ultrasound brought the same result. I had a missed miscarriage.
On October 25th—just one day before my birthday—I had the procedure to complete the miscarriage. In those painful days, I searched for comfort and community and found the March of Dimes. I read about other women who had experienced what I was going through, and the stories and research shared by March of Dimes helped me feel less alone.
That’s why we walk. That’s why we raise funds. To help other families. To honor our journey. To push for healthier moms and stronger babies.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
