The March of Dimes partnership with the UAW dates back to the 1940s when then-President Walter Reuther solicited the membership for dimes to help cure polio. Throughout the decades, UAW members have taken an active role in March of Dimes efforts and have been instrumental in raising funds and awareness of the March of Dimes mission. March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. They support research, lead programs, and provide education and advocacy so that every family can have the best possible start. Building on a successful 85-year legacy, they support every pregnant person and every family.
Since the beginning of our partnership, UAW members have raised more than $20 million for the March of Dimes to ensure Moms and Babies have the best possible start and live healthy lives.
