I am honored to serve as the 2018 Chicago March for Babies Executive Chair in support of the March of Dimes mission to help bring an end to premature birth. 1 in 10 babies are born premature in Illinois, equating to nearly 380,000 babies annually.
Over the past 15 years, Advocate has raised $900,000 in support of healthy moms and babies in Illinois. Congratulations to everyone who walked and fundraised on such an amazing accomplishment. Let’s work together to reach the $1,000,000 milestone in 2018!
Sign up today to walk with the Advocate team, and join me at the Chicago March for Babies on April 29 along with our 2018 Advocate Ambassador Family, Doug and Katie Hood. The Hoods are one of six Advocate NICU graduate families featured at the March for Babies Chicagoland walks this year. If you cannot attend a walk event you can still register and fundraise for the cause. There is no registration fee or minimum donation required to participate. Advocate employees who register and raise $40 or more will qualify for the Team Advocate shirt!
Advocate associates, patients and families can easily rally behind the March of Dimes simply because of its important mission to improve the health of babies. March of Dimes leads the movement to find the causes and preventions for premature birth, the #1 cause of death for babies. The organization funds an elite network of Prematurity Research Centers, including one in Chicago. March of Dimes also educates moms about healthy pregnancies and provides support to families with newborns in intensive care. Advocate Healthy Steps received a 2017 community award from March of Dimes to offer group prenatal care to vulnerable populations including African-Americans and Hispanics at four Advocate Hospitals. The mission of the March of Dimes aligns with the mission of Advocate Health care to support families in Illinois.
Thank you for supporting our efforts at March for Babies!
