The Texas Health Mission to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve is carried out every day inside the walls of our hospitals, outpatient centers and physician offices. But that Mission goes far beyond the bricks and mortar of our facilities, extending to all corners of the Metroplex through our support of organizations that have the same focus on saving lives and promoting health and well-being as ours.
One of several organizations Texas Health strategically supports that very closely aligns with our Mission and Vision is the March of Dimes, whose purpose is to reduce the number of premature births in the United States, the No. 1 killer of newborns. Their work has helped to steadily reduce premature births in recent years, but almost 400,000 babies are still born prematurely each year in the U.S.
That why I’m asking you to join me in supporting this year’s March of Dimes March for Babies. The fundraising walk is held in 500 communities around the country with more than 3 million participants. In recent years, Texas Health has certainly done its part, raising more than $1 million over the last 15 years.
I look forward to this being another successful year of supporting the March for Babies. The money we raise will help the March of Dimes fund research and education programs that make North Texas a better place for all of us.
